NHS Senior Caroline Riley is currently completing a 100-hour internship in the field of Occupational Therapy at Nettleton Primary School. The internship is funded by the Classrooms to Careers Grant, an initiative of the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund and CREATE Foundation.

Several NHS juniors and seniors attended the Navigating Nursing event at The W recently. This hands-on learning experience allowed the students to work with the simulation models and interact with current nursing students and faculty.

Dr. Robert Mack worked with 4th-8th grade math teachers to develop the best math strategies to implement in the classroom.
Natalie Breihaupt worked with 4th-6th grade ELA teachers on developing writing prompts and lessons.
Dr. Kiana Pendelton worked with building administrators to learn more about iReady reports and best strategies to implement in their schools.
Diane Neese worked with K-8th grade teachers on interpreting and utilizing their iReady data so that all students will grow.
Dr. Kim Roberts worked with counselors and EL students to prepare them for the upcoming ELPT.

NHS senior Telsey Witcher recently began an internship through the Classrooms to Careers grant, an initiative of the Toyota Wellspring Education Fund, at the Monroe Journal in Amory. Telsey is learning all the ins and outs of journalism and had her first article published this week. Way to go, Telsey!

Applications are open for the 2024 Vet Camp at Mississippi State University. The camp is for students ages 10 to 17 who are interested in becoming a veterinarian, veterinary technician, scientist, or working in an animal-focused area. Web address for more information is included in the graphic.

This is for any student interested in learning more about Nursing, Occupational/Physical Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, or Public Health. You must have an 18 on your ACT to attend.
Nettleton School District will be back to school
and on regular schedule on Tuesday, January 23. All bus routes will run. If any adjustments to bus routes need to be made, bus drivers will contact parents directly. If road conditions prevent students from attending school on Tuesday, January 23, they will be excused by the parent/guardian sending a note to their child’s school.
